-Multiple Favorites + Multiple Talents = Fun For Everyone!-
Unofficial Charabom Dex
Charaboms are Pokemon-like creatures that appeared in several Bomberman games in the early 2000's. They battle and have special abilities that help you out in-game. They may not be well-known, but I've been a big fan of them since childhood!
This dex is the one I use in my fanart and fanfictions. Like my other Bomberman content, it's based on my own ideas on the series and so may be a bit different from what you're familiar with, depending on which games you've played.
Note: I've currently only made digital drawings of one level of each Charabom, so for now, some official sprites/screenshots and some traditional drawings that were quickly colored digitally will have to do.
Official Charaboms
There are 60 official Charaboms, some of which have multiple levels (the equivalent of Pokemon evolutions). Nine of them have three levels, eight have four levels, and the other 43 don't evolve. LV.4 Charaboms have a different name from their previous levels.
Official Charaboms have four possible attributes: Water, Electric, Fire, and Earth. Some of the information in this dex is based on abilities and personality traits certain Charaboms display in certain games.

Attribute: Electric
Height: 1’4”
Weight: 14 lbs.
Rarity: Very common
One of the most well-known Charaboms, Pommy is considered the Charabom mascot. Pommys are known for their outgoing, playful personalities. They love attention and being called cute. Despite all this, they have powerful Electric abilities and make good friends for Bombermen and other Charaboms alike.

Weight: 22 lbs.
Its fluffy ears not only allow it to jump farther, they also collect and store electricity that Pommy uses in battle. The furry ears are also considered an admirable trait among Charabom fans.

Weight: 33 lbs.
In the wild, it can most often be found hopping around peaceful fields in a carefree manner. Now that its ears have transformed into feathery wings, it is able to fly for short periods of time.

Height: 3’0”
Weight: 67 lbs.
Rarity: Very rare
One of the very rare LV.4 Charaboms. It can only be obtained by taking a well-trained LV.3 Pommy to the elusive Charabom Shrine. Its once small wings have grown large enough that it can soar high through the air. Pommy Angel’s beautiful appearance and graceful flight have been admired for ages.

Attribute: Electric
Height: 1’10”
Weight: 24 lbs.
Rarity: Slightly common
One of the ten Charaboms in the Pommy group, a group of closely related Charaboms that can interbreed. Charabom biologists find this group fascinating to study. Pommy Nucklz has powerful fists packed with electrical power. It loves to train and grow even stronger during its free time.

Attribute: Electric
Height: 1’4”
Weight: 15 lbs.
Rarity: Common
Pommy Animal is known for its cute, cheerful, and loyal nature. Despite its small size and short legs, it has good running and jumping skills and endurance. Common in mountainous areas and prairies, it is often kept as a pet by Bombermen living in those areas.

Attribute: Electric
Height: 1’10”
Weight: 30 lbs.
Rarity: Slightly rare
Pommy Hammer wears armor and carries a hammer created from natural materials like bone and stone. These are often passed down through their families. The hammer it carries is charged with electricity and delivers a shocking blow. It’s not a good idea to startle this Charabom, as its first instinct will be to use that hammer!

Attribute: Electric
Height: 1’4”
Weight: 15 lbs.
Rarity: Common
A member of the Pommy group with a prehistoric appearance. It is believed that the spikes on its head and back collect and store electricity, while its brown spots act as a camouflage. It has the strange ability to form an egg-like cocoon around itself, which it uses for protection against predators and the elements. When Pommy Beast uses its Thunder Spin attack, it spins full speed ahead at its opponent while surrounded in electricity.

Attributes: Electric/Fire
Height: 1’7”
Weight: 21 lbs.
Rarity: Rare
Pommy Dragon is most commonly seen flying through the sky. It may look cute and sweet, but this little Charabom is a tough opponent in battle! With a combination of Electric and Fire powers and all those spikes on its body, it can easily get the job done. Its Thunder Squall attack sends powerful bolts of lightning down on its opponent.

Weight: 76 lbs.
When it grows to LV.2, Pommy Dragon’s wings grow larger and its body becomes even sturdier than before. Its running speed decreases as it evolves, but its flying speed greatly increases to make up for it. Its newly grown claws make great weapons in battle.

Weight: 154 lbs.
With its huge wings and very strong body, it can fly very far and fast with its owner riding on its back. The three spikes on its head have grown rock-hard and super-sharp. It may look fierce and be tough to beat, but it has a gentle nature and enjoys giving rides.

Attribute: Electric
Height: 2’0”
Weight: 37 lbs.
Rarity: Slightly rare
Watch out for those claws! Pommy Claws may look cute and have soft fluffy fur, but you don’t want to get on its bad side. Its four ten-inch claws can slice and dice through almost anything, and they gain an electrical charge during battle. It’s helpful when it comes to cutting wood and chopping down trees.

Attribute: Fire
Height: 2’0”
Weight: 39 lbs.
Rarity: Slightly rare
Although it is small and does not yet have many spikes, it likes to fight and believes it is quite strong. The flames it breathes are scorching-hot and sometimes used to light up dark places.

Height: 4’7”
Weight: 106 lbs.
Many sharp spikes have grown on its body, greatly increasing both its Attack and Defense. Having matured as it leveled up, it is more careful during battle. It uses its strong, spiky tail to take down its prey.

Weight: 148 lbs.
All the spikes on its back and tail have turned into flames, making the air around it very warm. As it grows, its scales become harder and tough enough to withstand intense heat. The stronger the flame on its horn burns, the more fighting spirit it shows.

Height: 6’11”
Weight: 260 lbs.
Rarity: Very rare
Dorokan is one hot Charabom! Its entire body has erupted into flames, making its attacks super-strong. It can even be found spending time in pools of magma. If you manage to obtain one and can take the heat, you’ll have a powerful ally. Some have speculated that Dorokan is one of the strongest Charaboms of all.

Attribute: Water
Height: 1’5”
Weight: 18 lbs.
Rarity: Common
Kai-Man is all about defense! At the first sign of danger, it will tuck its soft body into its hard shell. Most predators will be unable to break the shell and will give up. Kai-Man likes to live near the ocean. Its sensitive antennae detect motion within range.

Weight: 44 lbs.
Every time Kai-Man levels up it sheds its skin, which then becomes harder and tougher. At LV.2 its entire body not only looks like metal but is also just as hard. It has the strange ability to lend its power to other creatures, reducing the damage they take. No one is sure how this ability works yet.

Weight: 83 lbs.
Its shell has merged with the rest of its body, now as hard as diamonds. It’s too heavy to swim very fast, so it often walks on the seafloor instead. Some believe that seeing one is not only a beautiful sight (its skin shines like gems in the sunlight) but also a sign of good luck.

Height: 3’3”
Weight: 115 lbs.
Rarity: Very rare
Compared to its previous levels, Torpedo-Man’s features may look a bit strange. Its huge shell, which is still as hard as diamonds, is no longer fused with its body. Its skin is still super-tough but lighter than LV.3’s. This, along with its flipper-like arms, webbed feet, and newly-grown tail, allow it to swim at high speed. Its antennae are much shorter but even more sensitive. They can sense even slight changes in temperature and water level.

Attribute: Earth
Height: 2’9”
Weight: 78 lbs.
Rarity: Slightly rare
Young Elifans are not yet big enough to cause much of an earthquake, but they still enjoy stomping about when playing. They are curious about the world around them and affectionate. Their large floppy ears make them a bit clumsy but add to their charm.

Weight: 167 lbs.
Once it reaches LV.2, Elifan becomes much stronger and more mature. By stomping with all its might, it can create an earthquake nearby. Those large ears are used like fans to cool its body on hot days. It’s able to push and carry heavy objects with ease.

Weight: 250 lbs.
At LV.3, hard metallic patches have grown on its head, ears, tusks, legs, and tail. These not only provide protection from the impact of its earthquakes but also boost its Defense. If you feel a great earthquake, herds of Elifan may be nearby. They use their tusks to uproot the plants they eat.

Height: 7’2”
Weight: 428 lbs.
Rarity: Very rare
Giant and majestic, Big Elifan’s elegance and strength have been admired for ages. Its muscular trunk can lift a boulder with ease, and its sharp tusks can uproot huge trees. Sadly, its beautiful golden armor is highly sought after by poachers; but much effort is being made to protect this Charabom. It can cause a massive earthquake with one stomp!

Attribute: Fire
Height: 3’0”
Weight: 64 lbs.
Rarity: Slightly common
If you want to add a Ceedrun to your team, you’ll need to be prepared. This clever Charabom prefers to test the strength of those it encounters and will only listen to a trainer it finds worthy. If you can earn its trust, however, you’ll have a helpful ally. Ceedruns are known for their unique ability to project their Defense barriers anywhere they please. They use this ability to protect their owners and friends from harm.
Fanmade Charaboms
I made 23 fanmade Charaboms, all of which have multiple levels. 15 of them have three levels and the other eight have four. My Charaboms have four new attributes: Ice, Leaf, Air, and Magic.

Attribute: Water
Height: 1’5”
Weight: 18 lbs.
Rarity: Slightly common
Dulphin’s most interesting trait is its front flippers, which have a wide range of motion. This allows it to move on land as well as in the water. It also has double the lung capacity of a typical creature its size, so it can hold its breath for a long time while underwater. A playful Charabom, it enjoys splashing in the water.

Weight: 40 lbs.
As Dulphin grows, it becomes better at swimming thanks to its more numerous, larger fins. It can be found living both in tropical waters and arctic waters, where a layer of blubber will shield it from the cold.

Weight: 88 lbs.
When Dulphin reaches LV.3, it grows a new set of flippers built like legs! It can move quite well on land and is an outstanding swimmer as well. Gentle and strong, this kindhearted Charabom gladly gives rides across water. There are even stories told of Dulphins saving lost swimmers. Their beauty and gracefulness have captured the hearts of Charabom fans for ages.

Attribute: Ice
Height: 1’4”
Weight: 14 lbs.
Rarity: Slightly rare
Uh-oh, Pommy may have some new competition! The adorable Baglion has become an incredibly popular Charabom. It is adored for its cute looks and gentle, loyal nature, but it’s also very playful and needs plenty of exercise. Its tiny wings are too small for flight.

Weight: 58 lbs.
Baglions live in frigid climates in the wild, so they have several traits that help them survive. Their soft, thick fur protects them from extreme cold, and their unique metabolisms generate heat in freezing temperatures. They’re very fast runners with ice-proof paws that enable them to run smoothly on ice.

Weight: 91 lbs.
At LV.3, Baglion gains the ability to fly. Whenever it levels up its traction increases, so it can move more quickly on ice and slide less. Its Glitter Flash attack sends a beam of ice at its opponent that sparkles beautifully but may freeze its target solid.

Height: 5’1”
Weight: 120 lbs.
Rarity: Very rare
Like all LV.4 Charaboms, Baglide is extremely rare and powerful. To obtain one, you must take a well-trained LV.3 Baglion to the elusive Charabom Shrine. Baglide never feels the cold because of its warm fur. It is one of the fastest Charaboms and can run as smoothly on ice as it can on land. When it is angry, its fur tufts become sharp ice. Its huge wings are made of ice that never melts.

Attribute: Leaf
Height: 1’3”
Weight: 14 lbs.
Rarity: Common
This cute Charabom is best known for its excellent sense of smell. It can easily track down all sorts of things by following its nose. Though loyal and smart, it’s also very playful; young Sniffers can be distracted easily. Be patient when training your Sniffer and you’ll soon have a helpful ally.

Weight: 50 lbs.
Sniffer isn’t just good at smelling; it’s great at digging, too. That’s why it is often used to find buried treasure. Sniffers also commonly work with police and detectives. They’re especially skilled at tracking down Bombermen, Charaboms, and Creatures.

Weight: 78 lbs.
Sniffer’s third level has the most outstanding sense of smell of all. It can learn a lot about another living creature just by sniffing it. It uses its shovel-like tail to dig faster, while the armor on its upper body boosts its Defense. As the most mature level, it’s considered the easiest to train.

Attribute: Air
Height: 1’1”
Weight: 4 lbs.
Rarity: Common
This shy little Charabom likes to hide out in dark caves, where it hangs upside-down to sleep during the day. It has excellent night vision and hearing, making it a good Charabom to use when battling in the dark.

Weight: 50 lbs.
Baterrta uses echolocation to navigate when it’s too dark to see and to communicate with others of its kind. This same echolocation can reveal hidden passages and objects. Its bright coloring is believed to serve as a warning for potential enemies.

Weight: 75 lbs.
It can see and hear movements of its prey from a long distance, thanks to its sharp eyes and huge ears. It can fly at an impressive speed with its large wings. Its echolocation, when used at the proper wavelength, can paralyze its target.

Height: 4’8”
Weight: 99 lbs.
Rarity: Very rare
Eerie tales are told in folklore about the fierce-looking Ultibat. Supposedly, those who wander into its cave are never seen again. Perhaps these tales are based on the fact that Ultibat guards its territory diligently. And since it is able to see through objects, it would be hard for it to not notice you. Sound wave-emitting growths on its ears and tail can reach a frequency that causes headaches and confusion...I think it’s best to stay far away!

Attribute: Earth
Height: 1’1”
Weight: 10 lbs.
Rarity: Slightly rare
The skin on Burra’s tail is very hard and the tip is sharp, which makes it a good tool for breaking rocks. It’s an energetic Charabom that loves running around with its friends.

Weight: 22 lbs.
Its hook-shaped tail breaks rocks more easily than before. It often chews on things because its teeth are constantly growing. Its ability makes it a good companion for miners and explorers.

Weight: 49 lbs.
Nothing gets in Burra’s way! Its sledgehammer-like tail is harder than any rock. One swing can break even a boulder to smithereens! Of course, this also makes it a dangerous weapon in battle. Burra will keep moving to where it needs to go, no matter what rocky obstacles it may face. You might say it knows how to face life’s problems head-on-or should we say tail-on?

Attribute: Fire
Height: 1’2”
Weight: 10 lbs.
Rarity: Common
Cute little Cala has baffled and amazed Charabom researchers for a very long time. How is it immune to extreme heat? New research shows that its cells have fireproof properties and deflect excessive heat. This means that Cala will never overheat and can even swim in molten lava!

Weight: 47 lbs.
Cala can often be found hanging out in pools of lava as if they were swimming pools. Its four tails act as oars, helping it swim faster in lava. When Cala uses its Fire moves, any extra heat is released through its ears and tail to prevent its internal temperature from rising. The only time this process doesn’t happen is when it has a fever, so if your Cala seems hot, you can be sure it isn’t feeling well.

Weight: 76 lbs.
Cala is one Charabom that can really take the heat! It lives in places that would be unsuitable for most creatures. LV.3 stores warm air in its six puffy tails, helping it to stay afloat in the lava. When it is ready to fight, the fur tufts on its ears and legs burst into flame.

Attribute: Water
Height: 1’4”
Weight: 17 lbs.
Rarity: Slightly common
Seli is a smart and cheerful Charabom that spends much of its time in the water. It’s very good at performing tricks. When threatened, it will let out a piercing shriek; the horrible sound is enough to deter most predators.

Weight: 34 lbs.
Playful Seli lives peacefully with other aquatic Charaboms like Dulphin and Varox. It uses the rockets on its back to shoot blasts of water at its opponent. It may also shoot water into the air to warn other Selis of danger.

Weight: 52 lbs.
Using the jet packs on its back, it can launch itself forward at high speed. This way, it can quickly escape from an enemy while blasting water at its face. Seli may move somewhat clumsily on land, but in the water it is a talented swimmer.

Attribute: Water
Height: 1’11”
Weight: 30 lbs.
Rarity: Slightly rare
Varox is able to live on land and in the water. That’s because it has both lungs and gills. It’s a fast runner and a good swimmer. Its sense of direction is unrivaled; Varox always knows exactly where it’s going! This makes it useful for finding underwater items like sunken ships.

Weight: 55 lbs.
At LV.2, it begins to grow fins that improve its swimming speed and balance. It uses its strong tail to smack any enemy that comes too close.
